What is coaching?
Coaching is a client-driven, discovery-based process designed to unlock potential, accelerate growth, and create transformative change. Unlike consulting, which provides solutions, or mentoring, which offers advice based on past experience, coaching is about facilitating deep self-discovery so that leaders and high-achievers can access their own best insights, decisions, and strategies.

What is coaching NOT?
✘ Therapy — Therapy, or counseling, focuses on identifying symptoms, diagnosing conditions and finding causes, often in the past, for current challenges happening in a client’s life. Coaching by contrast focuses on the present, seeing the client as fully capable and ready for success.
✘ Consulting — A Consultant is an advisor, often due to being a “subject matter expert” (SME), usually in a business or technical field. They are hired by business’s for their expertise and ability to transform existing structures or processes into new opportunities. Coaching by contrast is a person to person, client driven transformation process that is unique to each individual. The coach’s expertise lies in empowering clients to become “subject matter experts” in themselves.
✘ Mentoring — Mentoring is an advising or training function, usually performed by someone with more years of experience or training than the person being trained. It relies on the mentor’s experience and knowledge to produce predictable results in the client. Coaching by contrast is between two equal’s, where the client is viewed as fully capable and containing all of their own solutions. The coach is an expert guide who is trained in facilitating the process.
